Since its establishment in 1998, the Health and Environmental Society has been actively involved in club activities, thanks to the guidance and support of our dedicated teachers and office bearers.
- Planting Project:In :-2019, we undertook a planting project near the school refectory. Society members actively contributed by bringing plants, soil, compost, and other necessary materials. We dedicated our time after school to carry out the planting, and we continue to maintain the garden by regularly watering the plants.
- Keep BC Clean” Project:_:Every year, we organize the “Keep BC Clean” project to ensure the cleanliness of our school. This initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility for cleanliness among the students.
- Plant Sale-:We organized a Plant Sale within the school premises to promote tree planting among our students, encouraging them to contribute to a greener environment.
- Grounds Maintenance-:We actively strive to maintain the cleanliness of the school grounds, which are utilized for various activities, including the annual inter-house sports meet.
- Field Trips-:The society organizes nature-friendly field trips every other year, providing students with the opportunity to experience and appreciate the beauty of our environment.
- Participation in the ‘Plant Trees, Plant Life’ Program-:In 2019, we actively participated in the ‘Plant Trees, Plant Life’ program organized by the Diocese of Colombo at Urumiwella Estate, Bulathkohupitiya, Kegalle
- Best Environmental Project’21-:In 2021, we organized a fashion show where students of Bishop’s College designed fashionable attire using recycled materials. Students from grades 6 to 11 participated enthusiastically, delivering speeches related to the theme of “Ecosystem Restoration.”
